Functional Genomics of Neurodegenerative Diseases

Research Summary

Our research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of synaptic transmission disorders and the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, in particular Alzheimer´s disease. Our aim is to unravel the physiological and pathogenic function of key genes and mechanisms that trigger disease. To this end we combine state of the art cell and biochemical approaches with the generation and phenotyping of mouse models.
