New Publication in Cell Reports APP family essential for normal neuronal circuit function
This article examines the physiological role of the amyloid precursor protein (APP) family in regulating spontaneous neuronal activity and circuit dynamics in the cortex and hippocampus. In a collaborative study with researchers from the Müller group Harris et al. show that the absence of the APP family is associated with suppression and silencing of cortico-hippocampal circuits and behavioral deficits that are linked to impaired NMDAR function.
